Singapore offers a barrage of world class attractions and surprisingly many at a reasonable price. Here are the top five sites that showcase the best of side of the city without emptying your wallet.
1. Marina Bay
Marina Bay is a spectacular bay located in the southern part of Singapore.
Take some time to wander around the Marina Bay Sands hotel and you’ll find shopping, restaurants and even a casino (free if you don’t shop, eat or gamble).
2. Gardens by the Bay
This 250-acre park features three waterfront gardens, conservatories and Supertrees (tree-like structures that house vertical gardens).
The gardens are free but visitors must buy tickets for the conservatories (visit both for $22).
3. The ArtScience Museum
The museum hosts three traveling exhibits and visitors have the options of purchasing tickets to one, two or all three exhibits ($22 for all three).
The museum showcased one of CNNs 12 ‘Must-see Exhibitions’, The Art of Brick that turns LEGO into art.
4. National Orchid Garden
The garden is the number one ranked attraction on Trip Advisor and for good reason; visitors can view 600 species and hybrids of orchids for a more than reasonable price ($4).
Even if you are not a big fan of gardens, I am sure you will find this display breathtaking.
5. Singapore Botanic Gardens
This stunning national park houses lakes, animals, flowers and plants. Visitors can roam the grounds for free.
For those looking for a bit more excitement and who aren’t concerned with budget Flight Experience (live out your lifelong dream of being a pilot in this modern flight stimulator, packages start at $140) and Ultimate Drive (get behind the wheel of a Ferrari or a Lamborghini and drive the Formula 1 circuit, packages start at $193) offer unique experiences that are highly rated on Trip Advisor.
In Singapore you find utter opulence and luxury, but it’s nice to know that even one of the most expensive cities in the world offers amazing sites for free.
